I Fell in Love with SAO.
Looking back to 2012, my world was completely captivated by an anime called Sword Art Online. Back then, "Virtual Reality" was just a distant, unreachable concept. Yet, when that swordsman in black first appeared in my line of sight—solemnly putting on the heavy NERvGear helmet, taking a deep breath, and shouting the phrase that changed everything: "Link Start"—I felt as though I, too, had crossed the dimensional barrier.
In that instant, dazzling streams of light exploded before my eyes, and the floating castle, Aincrad, rushed into view. For the younger me, that impact wasn't just visual shock; it felt like a grand prophecy about the future. Since then, in classrooms and in dreams, I fantasized countless times that our real-world 2022 would usher in the miracle of FullDive technology. I naively planned that if I could truly enter that world, I would trek across every wasteland and forest on every floor to feel the temperature of the wind—provided, of course, it was a dreamland where I could "Log Out" at will, free from the shadow of death.
However, in that world filled with steel and magic, what truly captured my soul was a silhouette in red and white.
I met Yuuki Asuna, the girl I would be willing to devote a lifetime of passion to. In my memories, she always wears her chestnut hair, warm as the autumn sun, flowing with a dashing grace in battle. She possesses a face of almost miraculous beauty, but hidden beneath that gentle appearance is a heart more resilient than anyone else's. In her hand is the rapier gleaming with holy light—the "Lambent Light." When she strikes, her speed turning her into a bolt of silver lightning, I see not only breathtaking sword skills but also her desperate desire to survive and her resolve to protect her love. That pure white blade reflected the stars in her eyes and illuminated the fantasies of my entire youth.
For me, Asuna is not just an anime character; she is the incarnation of courage, tenderness, and protection. Even though the real 2022 has passed, and the dream of FullDive remains unfulfilled, whenever I close my eyes, I can still see that girl in the Knights of the Blood uniform, standing on the grass of Floor 22, looking back at me. That was my original awe, and my eternal "first love."
This website is dedicated to all the love for Asuna Yuuki. Whether it is the piercing combat moments carved by Lambent Light, or the gentle daily life in the log house within the Kolin Forest, I hope that through art and words, this love that has transcended 2022 will forever "FullDive" into the hearts of every fan.
